The Temple Backcourt is Loaded

There’s been mention of the small ball lineup a few times but there’s a reason McKie has turned to that, the play from his backcourt has been outstanding. Going into the season everyone knew about Quinton Rose, Nate Pierre-Louis, but there weren’t a lot of people expecting Armani Moore to have such an impact. Moore struggled in the Davidson game a lot but his impact in this tournament and to the start of the season should not go unrecognized.

Even James Scott played a role for this Temple’s side, he chipped in a very important two threes down the stretch against Davidson to help them pull away for good. There’s so much depth and they’re all getting a lot of important minutes. It makes it really hard for other teams when everyone on the court is a threat from three and Temple has lineups like that.

Pierre-Louis and Rose are the veteran guys on this team and McKie has to be thrilled with his two senior guards leading the way. These guys are battle-tested and can easily play with any backcourt in the AAC.

The AAC has been put on notice that this isn’t a transition year for Temple, they’re looking to earn a bid and deserve the respect from the rest of the AAC as we’re a little under a month away from the start of conference play. There are two more chances for the Owls to earn quality wins against Missouri and Miami in nonconference play as they continue to build a resume that looks impressive so far.
