5-5 (0-2). . Demon Deacons . 15. team. 448.

At the bottom of the ACC we have the Wake Forest Demon Deacons who hold a record of 5-5. Wake Forest has struggled in a huge way this season with losses to teams such as Boston College, UNC Charlotte and then three straight against Arizona, Penn State and NC State.

The Demon Deacons have faced many hardships only 10 games into the season and there is a decent chance that it gets worse in the near future before it eventually gets better. Three of Wake Forest’s next five games are against ranked teams and if they failed to beat UNC Charlotte, there isn’t much hope for them to beat Xavier, Florida State or Duke.

Brandon Childress, Olivier Sarr and Chaundee Brown are the unsung leaders of the Demon Deacons as they have combined for 40.7 points, 18.3 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game. Not only that, but Sarr is also second in the ACC in rebounds per game with 9.5 boards.

Wake Forest has the making for a good team with a very dangerous trio, but unfortunately, after the three of them, there is a significant fall off to the remainder of the team.

While the Demon Deacons average a rather impressive 73.5 points per game, they give up an average of 72.7 per game, which isn’t nearly good enough to be competitive in the ACC.

Wake Forest is undoubtedly the worst team in the conference and you shouldn’t expect that to change anytime soon. Through two games against ACC opponents Wake Forest has lost by a combined 16 points with an 0-2 record and it’s rather possible that they go through conference play with three wins or less.

If I had to put a number on it I would say by the end of the season Wake Forest will have around 8-10 wins, don’t expect a whole lot out of the Demon Deacons this year.
