2. Wichita State Shockers

Sitting at 8-1 with their only loss coming from West Virginia in the championship game of the Cancun Classic, the Shockers find themselves in a great spot. They’ll have two more chances to add to their resume with games against Oklahoma and VCU in the coming weeks.

Wichita has ten guys averaging over ten minutes per game, they have a deep rotation and a lot of guys they can count on. Erik Stevenson has made a big leap in his sophomore campaign as he’s now the Shockers leading scorer and one of just two guys to start every game for Greg Marshall this season.

Wichita State has a lot of balance, they’ve got guys that can step out and knock down the outside shot and have been defensively sound for the most part in their first ten games. There’s quality wins on their resume as they make a bid to get an at large bid, the shockers are legitimate players in the AAC this year. Wichita won’t have to deal with James Wiseman as the Shockers only play Memphis once and it’s prior to his return from suspension.

Greg Marshall is one of the best coaches in this league, he’ll have his guys ready to play hard, this team is talented but won’t likely garner the attention they deserve.
