Ball Security

This key goes without saying, usually the team who holds onto the ball has the best chance to win. It is not more prevalent in this game. Michigan is a team that lives off turnovers if they get out in transition or get extra chances for their shooters to make a difference they are going to win the game. This game is already going to be tough for Oregon and multiple turnovers are going to make it even harder.

The Ducks have yet to play a true road game this season and their first taste is going to be an extremely hard place to play at the Crisler Center. The Ducks only average 11 turnovers per game which is not bad at all, but the hostile environment, traveling across the country and the early start time is going to have an effect on the Oregon offense especially with holding onto the ball.

It was mentioned earlier that Pritchard was going to be guarded by one of the best defenders in the entire Big Ten conference. Mathis and Duarte are off guards who don’t handle the ball much. Will Richardson does handle the ball and hangs on to it well. The rest of the roster is a question mark without Juiston the wings are both going to be Freshman and the backups are a freshman.

If Michigan starts going on a run and the confidence starts to grow for the Wolverines this game could go south for the Ducks quickly if they are turning the ball over.
