3. Work the ball for a good shot

Stanford cannot get into a track meet with the Dons.  San Francisco has been known to get up and down the floor with success, averaging more than 84 ppg.  The Cardinal need to utilize their style to control the game tempo.

Da Silva has been the leading scorer for Stanford, with most of his points coming from inside.  The German is averaging 17.4 ppg and is making 62.9% of his two-point field goals.  He will just need to use his quickness in the paint to get open against the much slower Lull.  Terry and Davis should find him for the score.  Oscar is scoring 23.3 ppg since his season-low of nine against Oklahoma.

The two freshmen, Terry and Jones, are also scoring in double figures.  Terry is averaging 15.2 and Jones is adding 10.5.  Jones is 41st in the nation in offensive efficiency.  USF will be a test for these two to not get caught up in the running game and settle in the offense for a good shot.

If the Cardinal can slow down the Dons’ scoring machine and work for the good shot, including taking the open threes that should be there, Stanford will be able to exact revenge for the 74-65 loss at USF last December.
