3. Maintain a balanced attack

Yes, Obi Toppin is the star of the show here. Without him, the Flyers would not be knocking on the door of the top 10 in the AP Poll. However, what is going to propel this team throughout the year is their depth.

Five Flyers score at least 10 points per game: Toppin, Jalen Crutcher (12.5), Ryan Mikesell (10.9), Trey Landers (10.2), Ibi Watson (10.1). It’s that kind of balance in your scoring options that great teams oftentimes have. If Toppin gets into foul trouble or gets banged up, the Flyers can count on this quartet to not only keep them afloat but help them win games.

If the Flyers are going to go on a deep NCAA Tournament run like they plan on doing, them winning a neutral site game versus a probable NCAA Tournament team like Colorado is a good test. This will be another opportunity (like the win over Saint Mary’s in Phoenix and the loss to Kansas in Maui) for the quartet of non-stars to show they can handle the moment.
