No. 6 Washington Wizards – Jaden McDaniels, Washington Forward

Already possessing a formidable backcourt, the Wizards try to address their wing needs with Washington’s Jaden McDaniels.

One of the more interesting and controversial prospects at the top of the draft board is Jaden McDaniels.

The freshman forward is controversial in the sense that it’s not quite clear where his game is going to evolve too. On paper, McDaniels has everything he needs. He’s six-foot-nine with the potential to do it all on offense and be a devastating defender.

The question for McDaniels will be whether or not he can harness his talent into production. At No. 6, there are probably safer bets to contribute immediately, but the Wizards can take a chance on McDaniel’s.

Washington has turned prospects into studs before (Wall and Beal) – albeit those guys were a bit safer than McDaniels initially, so they can afford to try to do it again on the Washington product.
