Pick No. 8 Detroit Pistons – Deni Adviji, Maccabi Tel Aviv Forward

The Pistons are no strangers to selecting international players, and they can target one again this year in Deni Adviji.

Last draft, the Pistons went with Sekou Doumbouya out of France at No. 15. This year, they can again target an international player if they so choose to do so in Deni Adviji.

Adviji is somewhat of a mystery man, but the six-foot-eight wing is currently playing for Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Israeli Premier League.

He is one of the youngest players in the draft and what Adviji is going to offer at the NBA level is an elite shooter, likely from day one. There’s always some skepticism regarding taking International big’s early on, but the Pistons could sorely use Adviji’s skill set.

Derrick Rose has been a revelation, and the Pistons badly need floor spacers around Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond. The Pistons showed last season that they pay attention to the overseas guys, so it would be no surprise to see them do it again this season.
