Shelvin Mack (2009-2011)

Even though Shelvin Mack only played three years in Indianapolis, he is a clear-cut selection for a starting guard spot. An instant starter from the opening tip of his collegiate career, the 6-foot-3 guard quickly asserted himself as one of the best players in program history. During his first season with the team, Mack was named to the Horizon League All-Newcomer Team while averaging in double-figures as a scorer alongside a pair of other starters on this All-Decade team.

Mack then simply continued to improve during his next two seasons both as a scorer and a playmaker. The epitome of durability and consistency, he started 107 of his 108 games with the Bulldogs and was an integral part of the team’s back-to-back runs to the national title game. For his career, Mack averaged 14.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game.

He was twice selected to All-Region teams at the NCAA Tournament as he stepped up when the lights were brightest. With his strength, confidence, and talent, Mack was a reliable big-time shot-maker for head coach Brad Stevens throughout his career. His performances against Pittsburgh, Florida, and VCU in the 2011 Big Dance will not be forgotten anytime soon. Mack never scored fewer than 13 points in a tournament game.

Following his junior season, Mack declared for the NBA Draft after his junior year. He was selected early in the second round and has had a solid career at the professional level.
