4. Harvard Crimson

Record: 9-4

This year’s Harvard team returned a lot of depth from last season and was picked by just about everyone to win the Ivy League. On top of winning the Ivy League, it was thought they might have a shot at being undefeated this point in the season.

The reason for all of the buzz around this Harvard squad is because they returned their top scorers from last year and picked up a 4-star recruit in Chris Ledlum. Ledlum was ranked as the 96th overall recruit in the 2019 class, per 247 Sports.

With a very talented guard in Senior, Bryce Aiken, and a bunch of other key contributors like sophomore guard Noah Kirkwood, and Senior forward, Chris Lewis, Harvard should not have dropped a couple of the games they did early on.

Toward the beginning of the year, Harvard was forced to play a few games without Aiken, who was recovering from a calf injury. In his absence, they lost their second game of the season to Northeastern.  Since then, they also lost to Buffalo, Maryland, and USC. Aiken was back for those games; however, they were just unable to compete at a high enough level.

Now that Ivy League play is around the corner for Harvard, they are still in decent shape and do not yet need to panic. They have the depth and the offensive ability with Aiken and company in order to capture the league crown and punch a ticket to the NCAA Tournament.
