Big 12

If the way the non-conference portion of the season has played out for Big 12 teams is an indicator of how conference play will be, then a close race at the top and a lot of teams in the NCAA Tournament conversation can be expected. It is unclear who will win this league, but here are the most important games that will decide who is at the top.

5) Oklahoma State vs. Kansas (1/27, 2/24)

Oklahoma State is exceeding expectations and playing much better than they did last season. I expect to see an exciting game in Stillwater. Oklahoma State’s Senior guard, Lindy Waters III is hungry to get his team a signature win.

4) West Virginia vs. Kansas (1/4, 2/12)

Like Oklahoma State, West Virginia is also playing much better than last season. A home game against Kansas may bring out the best in this Mountaineers team and NCAA basketball fans can learn a lot about them.

3) Texas Tech vs. Kansas (2/1, 3/7)

The national runner-up from last season is a team capable of inflicting more damage in conference play and in the NCAA Tournament. A battle with this talented Kansas team will be very telling of who the Red Raiders are. Defense will need to step up for them to contain the likes of Devon Dotson and Udoka Azubuike.

2) Texas Tech vs. Baylor (1/7, 3/2)

I could see Texas Tech taking this game. Baylor has been very impressive, and a matchup between guard Jahmi’us Ramsey of Texas Tech and guard Jared Butler of Baylor will certainly be exciting, but I think this is a key win for the Red Raiders.

1) Kansas vs. Baylor (1/11, 2/22)

So far, these two are looking like they will be the Big 12 frontrunners. Kansas will win the matchup at home. Kansas and Baylor will play two outstanding games that will be must-see TV. They will split, as Baylor will win the second contest between the two at home.
