Big Ten Basketball: 5 biggest questions for rest of 2019-20 season

5. What is Ohio State’s biggest weakness?

Mauro

Right now themselves. They have the best team in the league and one of the best teams in the country. If Ohio State worries about themselves and plays their game they will be just fine. If they play like they did against Minnesota they will struggle.

Brown

After looking at the film of their key wins and the Minnesota loss, I’m still not sure where their weakness is. They shoot well from the perimeter; their ball movement is fluid and they get the ball inside and score often. I’d be interested to see as the season progresses, how they handle their road games.

Kay

As of now, they don’t have many weaknesses as is. The Buckeyes have beat Villanova, Penn State, and North Carolina by a large number of points this season. They have also beat Kentucky this season and are ranked #2 in the nation. However, the only glaring weakness for the Buckeyes is their inability to win on the road in Big Ten play. Ohio State has many strengths and some of its weaknesses on offense last season are no more.

The Buckeyes though lost on the road to Minnesota by double digits and they struggled shooting the ball effectively against the Gophers. Going back to last season, they lost seven road games in Big Ten play. If Ohio State wants to win the Big Ten and compete for one of the top seeds in the NCAA Tournament, they have to find a way to win on the road in the Big Ten this season.

The fact that they are the Ohio State Buckeyes and play in Columbus.

Seriously though the Buckeyes have a tendency to turn the ball over, a lot. They are averaging just over 13 turnovers a game and it was their Achilles heel last year and they have gotten better this year, but it is still something that will cost them a game or two this year.
