NCAA Basketball: Buy or sell Baylor, Butler, Ohio State, Maryland and Oregon?

LaVall Jordan should be on the shortlist for National Coach of the Year. The turnaround he has led at Butler has been unbelievable. The Bulldogs currently have one loss and it was a one-point defeat at the hands of the Baylor Bears. Butler has one of the best resumes in the country. As strong as the Big East looks the Bulldogs are only going to get more opportunities and currently looked locked to get a top seed in the NCAA tournament.

Butler has one of the best shooters in the country in Sean McDermott. Pair him with senior point guard who is also one of the favorites for Big East Player of the Year in Kamar Baldwin. The final part of the trio is transfer Bryce Nze from Milwaukee. Nze is an efficient scorer inside as well as a tremendous rebounder and defender. Those three are the engines that make Butler go.

Butler is dangerous because they have the offensive weapons to win a shootout and they also have a better defense than Baylor averaging just a hair over 50 points per game. With their offense and that defense, they are going to win a ton of games. If Butler is able to get this done and win a National Championship.

Their fans will finally get some closure on the missed Gordon Hayward half-court heave that almost beat Duke for a title. With their ability to score, rebound and play defense. Coupled with their schedule and them being battle-tested, the Bulldogs pose a very real threat to win the whole thing in April.
