. . . Kentucky Wildcats. 18. player. 528

Kentucky performed quite well during this past week while picking up a road win over Georgia before returning home to take down Alabama. While many might be most impressed with the road victory, I was actually more encouraged by how the team dispatched the Crimson Tide in its second game of the week.

While Alabama might not boast a great record or efficiency ranking, it had been playing excellent basketball leading into that contest, especially on the offensive end. Kentucky absolutely stifled them into just 67 points on 36.8% shooting. Very impressive.

With these two victories, Kentucky moved to 12-3 (3-0 SEC) for the season. The Wildcats have also now secured four consecutive wins over KenPom Top 100 teams. With that said, though, they have only played one true road game all season and they will need to prove themselves a bit more in opposing venues before I completely buy in.

Those opportunities are also coming in the near future as Kentucky will play three of its next four games on the road, including tough matchups with Arkansas and Texas Tech.

On the whole, Kentucky is well-balanced team with the ability to win in a variety of ways. The Wildcats defend the perimeter, block shots, rebound well, win the FTA battle, and are effective finishing at the rim offensively. With that said, though, they still need to improve with regard to perimeter shooting. Kentucky is hitting on just 32.1% of its 3-pointers so far this season and that is the area that needs the most work, in my opinion.

Kentucky does not need to shoot a ton of attempts from distance per game but hitting at a bit higher rate would open up its offense more.
