. Georgetown Hoyas. 7. player. 473. .

Georgetown has handled its business at home so far in conference play and that is what is keeping it afloat with regard to NCAA Tournament hopes. Even without a deep roster, Mac McClung and Omer Yurtseven have both been excellent in propelling this offense to high ratings across the board. As I referenced time and time again, the Hoyas’ sub-100 defense could be its undoing but the team is doing a great job holding serve in the nation’s capital.

With that said, though, the Hoyas have not looked great on the road yet. They are 0-3 away-from-home in conference play with those losses coming to Providence, Seton Hall, and Villanova. That’s not all that concerning, but the fact that all of those defeats came by at least 14 points is. The Hoyas will need to find a way to win a road game or two during conference play in order to reach the Big Dance because it is unlikely that they go 9-0 at home.

On the whole, I have impressed by Georgetown in recent weeks. I thought that its lack of depth would hurt it earlier in the season than it has as everyone on the roster has seemingly stepped into their new roles fluidly. The key will be maintaining their high levels of energy throughout the year. The Hoyas play at a very fast pace for a team that is not very deep. Will they wear down as the season continues? That’s my biggest question.

Otherwise, I am encouraged by their play at home. They have already beaten St. John’s and Creighton in DC since the beginning of the Big East season.
