Christian Vital firing on all cylinders

Vital is going to need to have a big game, he’s the team’s primary scoring threat and he needs to be playing at a high level for UConn to be playing well. He had 25 against Wichita State in the loss but hit several big shots to keep them in the game.

He’s only shooting 38% from the floor on 11 attempts which isn’t the most efficient but he seems to be the only one that looks to create his own shot whenever he can. He’s a guy UConn goes to when they need a basket.

Of course, he won’t be able to do it by himself, Josh Carlton has been better in the last two games but they need the Josh Carlton from Charleston back. He needs to stay out of foul trouble especially with some of the size Villanova has.

UConn has their work cut out for them against Villanova and things won’t get easier after Villanova when they get back into conference play they’ll face a gritty Houston team. A big stretch here for Dan Hurley and his guys as they look to continue o build the culture as they prepare for life in a tough Big East next season.
