. . Kentucky Wildcats. 17. player. 528.

I’m still not sure how I feel about Kentucky this season. Even though it is already mid-January, it has been a bit of a roller-coaster season for the Wildcats as they are one of the most difficult teams in the country to figure out. When they are at their best, they can beat anyone in the country on any court. At the same time, though, they can also drop head-scratching games. This past week exemplified that as a microcosm of their season.

Summary: Kentucky dropped a questionable road game to South Carolina, a sub-90 KenPom opponent, before looking strong in a true road win over an excellent Arkansas team.

I just have no idea what to believe with this team. Kentucky now sits at 13-4 (4-1 SEC) on the season with a couple of really nice wins and a trio of “huh?” losses. They look the part of a team that could either be upset in the first round of the NCAA Tournament or make a run all the way to the Final Four. It will be interesting to watch how the young squad develops in the coming months.

Kentucky is still very much a contender to win the SEC this season.
