player. 525. . . . Auburn Tigers. 16

I never quite bought into Auburn this season due to its lack of quality wins. While I respected the difficulty of starting 15-0, the Tigers simply didn’t have enough (or any) truly good wins to warrant staying in the Top 10 after dropping back-to-back road games to Alabama and Florida during this past week. Those were arguably the two toughest games that Auburn had played all season long and the team was embarrassed in both.

The Tigers lost by 19 to ‘Bama and then by 22 to Florida a couple of days later.

Those two losses should not completely wipe Auburn from the Top 25 but they certainly led to a significant drop. The Tigers fell 10 spots in my rankings this week and it could have easily been more. Auburn needs to find a way to get back on the right track after its poor performances of this past week and hopefully playing five of its next seven games at home will help to do that.

Auburn now sits at 15-2 (3-2 SEC) on the season and is trailing behind LSU, UK, and UF in the conference standings. Additionally, it is important to note that the Tigers dropped in more than just my power rankings. They entered this past week ranked at No. 15 on KenPom and now sit at No. 26. They will have to earn back national respect.
