. . LSU Tigers. 19. player. 529.

LSU has quietly flown under-the-radar throughout this season. While the Tigers might not be the headlining team from the SEC this season, they have made a legitimate claim as a contender to win the conference over the past couple of weeks. Head coach Will Wade has done a superb job with this roster and the team is excelling offensively as a juggernaut on that end of the floor.

During this past week, LSU secured back-to-back road wins over Texas A&M and Ole Miss to move to 13-4 (5-0 SEC) on the season. While the competition might not have been the toughest, winning on the road is always difficult and the Tigers just swept a road trip. That is certainly worth mentioning as they validated why I placed them in my Top 25 power rankings last week.

LSU has been underrated nationally throughout this season and it has earned a ranking.

The squad pushes the pace quite well on the offensive end of the floor and you would be hard-pressed to find many teams that can score at a higher clip. Ja’vonte Smart and Skylar Mays form a dangerous perimeter duo while the Tigers boast a few viable scoring options in the frontcourt as well. LSU can outscore just about any opponent on its schedule.

Improving on the defensive end, though, will be mandatory in order to keep this ranking and/or compete for a deep run in March.
