474. . . . Marquette Golden Eagles. 5. player

Marquette is currently on a three-game winning streak and could easily be ranked a spot or two higher this week as a result. Behind the sensational scoring abilities of Markus Howard and an improving supporting cast led by Sacar Anim, the Golden Eagles are emerging as an offensive juggernaut. They shoot the three better than just about anyone else in the entire country and consistently earn “freebies” at the charity stripe with their intelligent offensive play.

Howard is obviously at the center of everything for this team and that strategy is working. No matter what defenses throw at him, the senior guard simply continues to find ways to fill it up. This is now his fourth season of absolutely torching the same programs and coaches. If they were ever going to find an answer to slow him down, they would have done it by now. The simple fact of the matter is that Howard is perhaps the most dangerous scorer in the entire country.

Even though Koby McEwen has struggled after a hot start to the season, the Golden Eagles are getting enough secondary support around Howard right now. Brendan Bailey and Sacar Anim are at the center of this offensively as they are both confident shooting threats with size. Add in the fact that Theo John is a solid rim-protecting big man to anchor Marquette’s defense and it is easy to believe that this is easily a future at-large team.
