Missouri wasn’t really expected to compete at the top of the SEC this year and have played a gauntlet of a conference schedule to this point, already having squared off against Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, and Alabama. The Tigers do have a win over the Gators, too.

However, they also have a 27-point loss to Mississippi State and a loss to Texas A&M on their resume (after losing to Charleston Southern in non-conference play, no less).

The Tigers really struggle on offense without any real stars, any real quality shooters, and a huge turnover problem. But, hey, the 54 consecutive free throws they’ve made over a two-game stretch is an NCAA record. So at least there’s that!

Many expected Texas A&M to be among the very worst power conference teams this season despite the arrival of head coach Buzz Williams. That thinking was reinforced once TJ Starks left the program and when the Aggies got off to a 3-5 start that included a loss to Fairfield.

Texas A&M certainly hasn’t been great since then – their offense is putrid due to just a sheer lack of talent on that end – but they’ve found a way to win games, going 6-3 over their last nine games.

Yes, the Aggies have absolutely beaten up on the bottom of the conference (their wins are over the three teams already listed), but they also took LSU to overtime and only lost to Arkansas by 10 at Bud Walton Arena.

Williams has this group playing hard and playing high-level defense. They won’t make a lot of noise due to the lack of offensive talent, but they’re going to continue to be tough for everyone to play against.
