Texas Tech Basketball: 2019-20 keys for home win over Kentucky Wildcats
2. Get Jahmi’us Ramsey some help
Ramsey had his struggles in the loss to TCU from the field, making just one of six three-point attempts. But he’s been great as a freshman for the team so he’s allowed to have an off-night or two. That problem is, the margin of error is so thin scoring-wise that Texas Tech really needs the dynamic guard to go for 15+ to have a shot at winning.
What the Red Raiders also need is for Davide Moretti to get his consistency back. In the first 10 games of the season, the junior guard scored in double figures in nine of them. But in the last eight, he’s gone for 10+ in just half of them, including just eight in the loss to TCU. When he gets going from deep, the Red Raiders don’t have to worry about not scoring inside.
Kyler Edwards also needs to have a big game as well. He’s shown the potential to go off, with three games of 20+ points (two in the last three games). The sophomore also has struggled from the field as well, along with having defensive issues as well. He’s arguably the best all-around player on the team when rebounding and passing is included, so Edwards can’t afford to disappear at home against Kentucky.
