Pritchard has already checked the “Heisman moment” box a few times this season because of the way he continues to come through for Oregon in late-game situations, most notably with his performance against Michigan and the shot he hit against Washington.
However, the Ducks have simply been in way too many of these situations. Three of their last five games have gone into overtime and another was a disappointing upset loss at Washington State. Pritchard has put up good stat lines in these games (along with coming up clutch late), yet he’s also part of the reason they’re struggling, having some of his least efficient performances.
That’s why he’s fourth but – make no mistake about it – there is very little separation between the top four players on this list.
Pritchard’s ability to elevate his play in a game’s biggest moments is special and has helped Oregon maintain their place among the nation’s best teams. If the Ducks can return to playing at the level we saw from them in December, Pritchard will rise.
