Iowa Hawkeyes. 18. player. 483. . .

Iowa is a very good basketball team and it has proven it during this past stretch. The Hawkeyes are currently riding a four-game winning streak and that was continued during this past week as they took down Rutgers. Admittedly, three of those wins came at home with the lone road win coming at Northwestern, but winning four straight in the Big Ten is never something to overlook.

The Hawkeyes are playing at a high level right now and have leaped all the way up to No. 14 on KenPom. Their offense currently ranks third in the nation as they are seemingly impossible to stop.

Leading the way, of course, is National Player of the Year contender Luka Garza. Arguably the most dominant big man in the entire country, Garza has taken a substantial leap this season all the way into superstardom. He is averaging a double-double of 23.2 points and 10.3 rebounds per game to lead the Hawkeyes as a 6-foot-11 junior.

Alongside him, the underclassmen backcourt of CJ Fredrick and Joe Wieskamp has been excellent while combining for over 25 points per game themselves.

Head coach Fran McCaffery has done an excellent job with this roster as he has surrounded a big man superstar with tremendous amounts of shooting. Iowa ranks third nationally in assists per field goal made as it is constantly willing to share the wealth offensively.

Garza is the star but anyone is capable of stepping up on any given night. Iowa ranks in the Top 100 in each of the following major offensive categories: eFG%, TO%, off. reb. %, 3P%, 2P%, FT%, and A/FGM. The Hawkeyes play at a Top 100 pace nationally and they understand how to function as a unit without turning the ball over.

This has the makings of a special season in Iowa City.
