6) Arizona State Sun Devils 12-7 (3-3)

The second team that seems to be the epitome of the middle of the Pac-12 is the Arizona State Sun Devils. Their win over Arizona this weekend pushed them into the top half, but that isn’t saying much. With just four reliable scorers, the Sun Devils have one of the most inconsistent scoring attacks in the nation. Some nights it seems like they can’t be stopped, while other games the offense struggles to score 50.

This inconsistency in performance may not be conducive to a top-five finish in the conference, but Remy Martin and company certainly have the talent to make a deep run in the Pac-12 Tournament. All it will take is one solid week of play to earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

5) Stanford Cardinal 15-4 (4-2)

After two straight collapses in the last 10 minutes of games against USC and Cal, the Stanford Cardinal have found themselves in a dangerous bubble situation. It might be time to reconsider how good we think Stanford actually is, as they are currently 4-2 in Pac-12 play with their only wins coming against bottom-five teams.

Oscar Da Silva is probably the most improved player in the conference, and Tyrell Terry is fantastic, but the Cardinal did not have a strong showing over the past week and a half.  At best, the Cardinal is probably a candidate to play in Dayton, and that is still a big improvement from last season.
