Seton Hall has perhaps been the most impressive team in the entire country over the last month. Despite dealing with some injuries, the Pirates have been absolutely rolling through their competition while emerging as not only the favorite to win the Big East but a legitimate contender to take the national title. Myles Powell is the star and the straw that stirs the drink for this team but the ingredients around him are pretty darn good as well. In fact, one could make an argument that both Powell and star big man Romaro Gill are contenders for BE Player of the Year.

Gill has been sensational as the defensive anchor of this squad throughout this season but has really stepped up his offensive contributions in conference play. The same can also be said about point guard Quincy McKnight. With those two on the floor, Seton Hall is nearly impossible to score on. McKnight is an elite perimeter defender that either shuts down his matchup or funnels him into the lanky arms of shot-blockers in Gill or Ike Obiagu.

This also goes without mentioning the blossoming talent that is Jared Rhoden. He been filling in as the starting “4” for the Pirates over the past month and keeps improving with every game. His per-game numbers might not jump off the computer screen but he is very impactful on film.

Oh, and Seton Hall just got Sandro Mamukelashvili back from injury as well. It might take some time for Coach Willard to figure out where he wants to put Mamu in the rotation, but he is a talented player.

Seton Hall is scary good.
