Creighton has flown a bit under-the-radar as a team that currently sits at 5-3 in conference play. The Bluejays are currently in the midst of a three-game winning streak and that needs to be recognized, even if all of the victories came over teams in the bottom half of the league. Their offense has unsurprisingly been the most efficient since the start of conference play and that showcases how the Bluejays have reached their current record. They simply have the ability to fill it up against just about any defense behind their elite trio of guards.

With that said, though, they are 0-2 against the three teams ahead of them in my power rankings. Creighton is simply yet to be tested much against the rest of the “elite” in the Big East and those upcoming contests will determine whether the team belongs in the upper-tier or is the start of the middle-of-the-pack. The Bluejays will be tasked with playing three of their next four games on the road and that includes two of those away games coming against Villanova and Seton Hall.

This is a crucial stretch for Creighton if it wants to contend for the regular-season title.

On the whole, Creighton should be regarded as an NCAA Tournament lock. The team has proven itself time and time again this season and it is yet to take a “bad loss”. Arguably the Bluejays’ worst performance of the entire season came when it lost by 31 points to San Diego State in late November. Little did we know that the Aztecs would still be undefeated and regarded as a Top 5 team in the country by the end of January.

Creighton clearly belongs in the Top 4.
