3. What is your dream national title matchup this season and why?

Burgess

There are so many intriguing possibilities for a title game, but I would love to see a Gonzaga vs. Florida State. Two tough teams, one that loves to score and one that beats you down defensively. Not to mention, two well-deserving coaches that would finally get a title.

Belt

If I could have any Natty title game where I could sit back and enjoy exciting basketball to finish off the season, I would want to see Louisville and Kentucky square off for the crown. For the sake of my heart and mental health, I will leave Maryland out of this discussion, because there is no way I would be able to sit back and relax while watching my Terps in the title game. While Kentucky may not be a popular pick here after their recent loss to Auburn, there is something about this Wildcats team that excites me.

I feel like their combination of guard play with Ashton Hagans and Tyrese Maxey, as well as frontcourt tandem of Nick Richards and E.J. Montgomery will be able to overwhelm some teams come March. For Louisville, it falls on the shoulders of Jordan Nwora. If he becomes the player he is expected to be as the season creeps into tournament play and the rest of his team can play their role and contribute, I wouldn’t count out the Cardinals.

Kennedy

Penn State vs. Duke. I want a team that runs the floor well in transition and plays great defense. I also want Penn State to beat Duke. You said dream, right?

Miller

Give me Dayton vs. Gonzaga. Last season we got the number 1 and number 2 in KenPom defensive efficiency. Let’s flip the script and see the top two teams in offensive efficiency. The Flyers just play entertaining basketball and the matchup of Toppin vs. Petrusev would be must-watch TV. Also, these are two unselfish teams as well as couple coaches who are easy to root for.

Dieckhoff

San Diego State and Gonzaga. A west coast team from a mid-major conference takes home the crown? Count me in, baby. But seriously, this would be an amazing matchup of a juggernaut offense against a steel-trap defense. I have no idea what would happen in this game, but I would be absolutely glued to the television set.
