479. . . . Villanova Wildcats. 2. player

Villanova dropped its last two games but it’s hard to be too upset with losses to Creighton and Butler. It’s also important to mention that the ‘Cats remain up on both teams in the current conference standings and have a similar body of work/resume. As a result, Villanova stands firm at the No. 2 spot in these rankings ahead of arguably its biggest test of the entire season.

After likely hearing their name called among the Top 16 at the Bracket Reveal on Saturday, the Wildcats will then be tasked with taking on Seton Hall at home a couple of hours later.

This will be the first matchup between the top two teams in the conference and should be on everyone’s watch list. The Wildcats are already two games behind the Pirates in the Big East standings so this will be a huge swing game. If Villanova is able to secure the home win, it will be right back in the thick of the regular-season title race. If not, then Seton Hall will be three games up and practically impossible to catch by anyone.

It’s also important to mention that the Wildcats will be looking to avoid a three-game losing streak all against teams in similar spots in the Big East standings.

Butler, Creighton, Marquette, and Providence are all right on the heels of Villanova for the No. 2 spot in the conference standings. It might not feel that way right now but it is the truth. This is especially true considering the Wildcats are one of only two teams, along with Creighton, that are yet to play the Pirates (that obviously changes this weekend).
