7. Princeton

The play of Princeton has been remarkably inconsistent this season. The Tigers began the year 1-7, though it did include a very close home loss to Arizona State. They’ve won their last six games, though their most recent over Harvard might be the most impressive of the season. Simply put, this is not a fantastic basketball team, and they have won three of their four Ivy League games at home.

Looking ahead, things get tougher for the Tigers. They’ll play Yale on February 14 and February 29 and will be the underdog in both games. They’ll rematch at Harvard on February 21 and still have four other road games besides those. Especially this season, anything can happen for a team playing at home, even if the Tigers did dispatch of Penn a month ago.

If Princeton manages to go 14-0 in Ivy League play, it would be considered a major surprise. This team has had major struggles in nonconference play and you have to expect that one of these games the defense is going to go back to struggling again. The road to 6-0 runs through a few winnable road games, but this is not the Princeton teams of yesteryear and I just can’t see it happening.
