. Marquette Golden Eagles. 19. player. 474. .

Marquette has been absolutely rolling as of late. The Golden Eagles have won six of their last seven games and also defended their home court against Butler in their lone game of this week. There should be absolutely no denying the fact that Marquette deserves to be ranked given their hot play as of late.

While this team still showcases some weaknesses on the defensive end of the floor, it is hard to imagine many defenses are capable of slowing down their offense.

Markus Howard is the clear-cut leader of the squad while averaging 27+ points per game, but he is not alone. Sacar Anim and Koby McEwen, most notably, have emerged as secondary scorers on the perimeter alongside him while Brendan Bailey is a double-digit threat on any given night as well. Marquette can absolutely light it up from 3-point range and also gets to the free throw at an impressive rate.

Marquette is currently in a tie for second place in the Big East and has been rising up the bracketology seed lines for the past few weeks. The Golden Eagles are hitting their stride at the right time as a very dangerous team. They will get Villanova (away) and Creighton (home) during this next week as two more opportunities to move up the rankings.
