5. Predictions for biggest games this week

Kansas at West Virginia (Wed, Feb 12)

Loose

West Virginia’s defense is no joke and they’ve yet to lose at home this season, they’ll survive an instant thriller in Morgantown.

Mauro

Kansas. I don’t think West Virginia is as good as they have shown.

Anderson

West Virginia is currently 6-4 in the Big 12, which is interesting considering they were 12-1 in nonconference action. They fell on the road by seven points on Jan. 4 and with a lot riding on this one, it’s hard to predict the Mountaineers losing at home when they’re 12-0 already on the season. West Virginia by five.

Colorado at Oregon (Thurs, Feb 13)

Loose

Oregon gets revenge for a Jan. 2nd loss at the Buffaloes, get back on track after a pair of rough road performances.

Mauro

Oregon gets its revenge.

Anderson

Oregon has lost two in a row, Colorado has won three in a row and sits at 8-3 on top of the Pac-12. In unfamiliar territory, one has to expect the Ducks to turn it around at a pivotal point in the season. They’re also undefeated at home at 12-0. Ducks by 12.

Maryland at Michigan State (Sat, Feb 15)

Loose

Maryland has been the best team in the Big Ten while the Spartans will be playing desperate at home; ride the Terrapins to another big win.

Mauro

Michigan State. Terps are a different team on the road.

Anderson

The Spartans have lost three games in a row and are still in good shape at 8-5 in the Big Ten. Beating a Maryland squad that’s won six straight might be a tall task for them. Maryland by 3.

Virginia at UNC (Sat, Feb 15)

Loose

The Tar Heel’s have been much improved since Anthony’s return, but Virginia might finally be figuring things out on the offense end and will leave Chapel Hill with a huge win.

Mauro

UNC. They looked better last night and got contributions from everyone. If Leaky Black plays as he did against Duke Carolina could make a run.

Anderson

The Tar Heels dropped a game they should have won this past Saturday against Duke. The Cavaliers are in desperation mode on the road while Cole Anthony is due to prove his critics wrong with a big game. North Carolina by 5.

Syracuse at FSU (Sat, Feb 15)

Loose

Florida State will get back on track at home, where they haven’t lost this season, especially if their defense shows up.

Mauro

Florida State. Devin Vassell and the Noles are too much for the Orange.

Anderson

The Orange are on a tear currently in ACC play but they haven’t faced a well-oiled machine quite like the Seminoles this season. Florida State is another team that’s unbeaten at home as well. Look for them to win this easily. FSU by 15+
