Expect UNC Basketball to return to form in the 2020-2021 season

This season has been rough for the Tar Heels, with many factors culminating in one of their worst seasons in school history. But don’t expect this to continue. UNC Basketball will reload for next season and completely refresh the roster.

As of now, North Carolina stands to bring in five Top 100 recruits according to ESPN, including three five-star prospects. 247 Sports ranks their 2020 class at #3 in the nation, the highest the Heels have ranked in over a decade. Cole Anthony will be leaving for the NBA, but Armando Bacot, another five-star talent, will remain in Chapel Hill assuming he doesn’t declare for the draft. UNC will have the ability to put a top prospect at every position on the floor. Given their recent recruiting shortcomings, this will be a welcome reset.

Next. Biggest takeaways of the week. dark

While this season did not go the way most UNC fans have come to expect, next season’s incoming class promises a fresh start full of young talent. This, along with the expected return of Bacot and the all-time great coaching of Roy Williams, the Tar Heels will certainly be back very soon.
