The Cornhuskers have an opportunity to get their 3rd Big Ten win of the season as they host Northwestern on March 1st. It is unlikely they will win any of their other five remaining games on their schedule prior to the Big Ten tournament. However, Nebraska has shown the ability to play well on the road as they did at Maryland and possibly can get a late-season upset.

Nebraska more than likely will hold off Northwestern in their pursuit to not finish in last place in the Big Ten. 1st year new Nebraska head coach Fred Hoiberg is continuing to use different lineups and is still installing the identity that he wants his team to have and play with going into next season. Nebraska is still trying to navigate through the rough roads of Big Ten play as they continue to compete in Big Ten play to build momentum in hopes of winning a game in the Big Ten tournament.

Nebraska has been wildly inconsistent and has won some games like they did against Iowa which has shown that they have the capability to compete in an extremely ultra-competitive Big Ten. However, they have lost some games in which they should have won like against Maryland and Rutgers and that is why they are in 2nd from last place currently.

The Cornhuskers, however, need to use the remaining games of this season to build momentum for the 2020-2021 season. Nebraska hosts Michigan State on Feb. 20th and then they have another tough match-up as they travel to play Illinois four days later.
