9. Air Force (-)

Air Force is the first team on this list that actually managed to claim a win over the last 2 weeks. Unfortunately for them, that win was over San Jose State, which just isn’t enough for them to get a boost in the rankings this week.

Their other three games over the last two weeks saw them struggle to even compete. They lost by 15 to San Diego State, 17 to Boise State, and 34 to Nevada. Those three losses were part of a month where the only team that didn’t beat them by double digits was San Jose State (they also lost to SJSU by nine in January).

This Air Force team showed some promise early in the Mountain West schedule thanks to their 3 point shooting, but they haven’t been able to sustain the level of play that helped them split their first 6 conference games. The win over San Jose State was actually their first since they split those six, losing seven in a row since the middle of January.

Air Force’s schedule actually lines up pretty nicely for them to try to make a late push for better tournament seeding. They get home games against Wyoming and a struggling New Mexico and also have a chance to try and upset Fresno State on the road. Their last game of the season comes at Colorado State, which will be a tough way to finish the year, but they could potentially pick up a couple more wins before the season ends and even see themselves make a move back toward the middle of the pack in this conference.
