2. UNCG

Record: 23-6 (13-3 SoCon)

The Spartans of UNC Greensboro are on a six-game win streak after an 82-65 loss at the hands of ETSU. Outside of the Buccaneers, Greensboro has not had much of a problem with anyone else in the SoCon.

Two of their three losses have been to ETSU and the third was to Wofford early in the season. Since it has been a while since the Spartans have last been beaten, they have gained the steam necessary in order to head into the matchup with Furman on Wednesday night.

The game against Furman will have huge SoCon Basketball Tournament implications, as the outcome will certainly have an effect on seeding. I honestly think UNCG has the slight advantage heading into the game, due to the fact that Furman dropped a tough loss to ETSU last week.

UNCG is very relevant in college basketball and at the top of the SoCon because of its excellent backcourt and versatile forwards. The Spartans are led by senior guard, Isaiah Miller. Miller averages 18.2 ppg and is in conversation to win the conference player of the year award.

Outside of Miller, Sophomore guard, Kaleb Hunter is a solid contributor, and Senior forwards, James Dickey and Kyrin Galloway are both effective scorers and great defenders. This squad certainly has the group capable of winning the league in order to advance to the NCAA Tournament.
