3. Texas Tech Red Raiders (18-11, 9-7)

The Texas Tech Red Raiders have also hit a little bit of a late-season slump, dropping a pair of games to Oklahoma and Texas, the latter of the two saw the Red Raiders blow a seven-point halftime lead, only to lose by ten.

The lack of a clear star has been the problem, as Davide Moretti and Jah’mius Ramsey have proven to be very good, but neither are the type to lead this team to the promised land.

Chris Beard is one of the best tournament coaches in the country, and this group looks built for the tournament, with no clear weakness past the lack of a top scorer. Last season’s team had Jarrett Culver, but this season’s team hasn’t found their “guy”.

Once they do, and there are plenty of options, this Red Raiders team will finally become dangerous again, despite the many question marks that this group faced leading up to the season.
