Bracket

All eleven Big South Basketball teams get the opportunity to compete in the conference tournament. The tournament consists of four rounds, and the top five teams in the conference standing get a first-round bye into the quarter-finals. Here is the bracket:

First Round

6) UNC Asheville vs. 11) Campbell

Despite the fact that UNC Asheville sits at 6th in the Big South Basketball standings, they have not been able to successfully take care of the team that sits in last: the Campbell Camels. I do not think this third meeting between the two squads will be much different. Campbell will win, but I am not sure if this counts as an upset.

Prediction: Campbell 71 – UNC Asheville 64

7) USC Upstate vs. 10) High Point

High Point is currently on a three-game losing streak. USC Upstate has not performed any better. They have only one victory in their last five contests. This is another game in which the team lower in the standings has not lost to the higher-ranked team. This is good news for High Point and I think they will get back on track and pick up a win in the Big South Basketball Tournament behind a strong performance from Freshman Guard, John-Michael Wright.

Prediction: High Point 66 – USC Upstate 61

8) Charleston Southern vs. 9) Presbyterian

Charleston Southern and Presbyterian split in their first two meetings this season. Charleston Southern took the first meeting 74-66. The two met for their second meeting yesterday in a game that was won 76-65 by Presbyterian. In Tuesday’s matchup, I think Charleston Southern will make the right adjustments and get the win.

Prediction: Charleston Southern 65 – Presbyterian 62
