Lead-Pipe Locks: Seton Hall, Creighton, Villanova, Butler, Marquette.

Safely in the field: None.

Some perspiration: Xavier, Providence.

Double the deodorant: None.

Xavier Musketeers (19-10, NET: 41)

Bracketology Average: IN (135/136 brackets) – 9.50 seed.

Xavier is in pretty good shape after taking down DePaul (home) and Georgetown (away) in its last two games. The Musketeers simply have a much better resume than most of the other teams on the bubble and it might take losing three in a row for this team to fall out of the projected field. With that said, though, their closing schedule isn’t easy as they face Providence (away), Butler (home), and then the Big East Tournament arrives. Xavier *should* be safe, but one more win is necessary to move it up a category.

Providence Friars (17-12, NET: 44)

Bracketology Average: IN (133/136 brackets) – 10.07 seed.

Providence has an abundance of great wins this season and that became even more obvious during this past week as the team went on the road to take down Villanova. The Friars are currently in the midst of a four-game winning streak and finish with home matchups against Xavier and DePaul. Head coach Ed Cooley’s team will be favored in both games and winning both would put them in excellent shape heading into the BET. Providence has overcome its horrible non-conference to move onto the right side of the cutline and is currently playing at a level that is significantly higher than what its NCAA Tournament seed will indicate. The closing schedule favors PC remaining in the field.
