8. Yale Bulldogs (23-6, 11-2 Ivy League)

There’s a lot of well-deserved talk about how Harvard has handled not having their best players this season but head coach James Jones has kept Yale right at the top of the Ivy League regardless of who leaves the season prior. With Miye Oni, the returning Bulldogs collectively have overachieved.

Both Paul Atkinson and Azar Swain have each made cases for Conference Player of the Year, while seniors Jordan Bruner and Eric Monroe have provided the depth and leadership to propel Yale to the regular-season championship and a spot in the Ivy League Tournament.

It certainly hasn’t been easy, with a number of close calls and inexplicable finishes to their games. But as Harvard and others have fallen off, the Bulldogs have remained consistent. They have a tough road matchup at Harvard to end the regular season but they’ve locked up the No. 1 seed anyways.

The question will be whether they face Penn or Brown in the semifinal matchup, whereas both Harvard and Princeton are set up to face each other. Considering how close many of the matchups have been between all of these teams involved, the Ivy League Tournament will be one to watch next week. 664 words
