Darryl Morsell, Isaiah Livers, D’Mitrik Trice headline honorable mentions

Coaches Selections:
Kofi Cockburn, Illinois, Marcus Carr, Minnesota, Trevion Williams, Purdue, Ron Harper Jr., Rutgers

Media Selections:
Darryl Morsell, Maryland, Isaiah Livers, Michigan, Cam Mack, Nebraska, Myreon Jones, Penn State, Trevion Williams, Purdue, Geo Baker, Rutgers, Ron Harper Jr., Rutgers, D’Mitrik Trice, Wisconsin

The Maryland Terrapins always got the best out of Darryl Morsell every time he stepped on the court and this season was no different. He was always known as a defensive force but has shown his adept ability to score recently. The Minnesota game-winner was one of the many highlights he had this year. He scored in double figures 13 times with two double-doubles.

Isaiah Livers battled injuries during the season but came back and proved to be very productive for the Wolverines in the latter half of the season. Zavier Simpson and Jon Teske are the guys that make that team go but Livers is the X-factor. He averaged 12.9 ppg, four rpg and shot 44 percent from the field and 40 percent from the perimeter.

D’Mitrik Trice was one of the leaders for the Wisconsin Badgers this season and scored 28 points in a pivotal win over Michigan. Once Ethan Happ was no longer a part of the program, Nate Reuvers had to step up and so did Trice. I’d watch out for the Badgers in the Big Ten Tournament as the one seed. They will play the winner of the Michigan and Rutgers matchup. If Michigan wins, a rematch between those two teams is going to be entertaining.

Geo Baker and Ron Harper Jr. deserve to be named honorable mentions because they helped Rutgers head coach Steve Pikiell turn the program around. They have had losing seasons in the last four years. This season they finished fifth in the Big Ten with a 20-11 (11-9 Big Ten) record and 18-1 home record at the RAC. Those two were the Scarlet Knights leading scorers.
