Duke vs. Stephen F. Austin

If the dreams of NCAA basketball fans came true and we had the chance to see these two teams square off again, I have a feeling the ratings would have been through the roof. If you are an avid fan of the college game, then you certainly remember when the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks went into Cameron Indoor and shocked the #1 ranked Duke Blue Devils, 85-83, back in late November.

That game was everything a fan would want in an NCAA basketball game, as it was arguably the most thrilling game of the 2019-20 season. The chances of us getting a rematch were rather slim anyway, but this could have been a potential Second Round game.

In the NCAA Tournament, the stakes in this game would have certainly been a lot higher, and I doubt the young Duke stars would have taken the fiery Lumberjacks of Stephen F. Austin lightly. It certainly would have been interesting to see, as it can be said that rematches often give an advantage to the team that lost in the first meeting, but I think it would have gone down to the wire yet again.

Stephen F. Austin possessed a group of very talented, hungry upperclassmen. I firmly believe that they were not going to go out without winning a game or two in the NCAA Tournament. They would, without a doubt, not have been intimidated in a second game against Duke this season.

Duke for sure would have the talent advantage, but the strength and aggressiveness advantage belonged to SFA. It is hard to pick who would take this rematch, but it would have been a great one!
