Manny Obaseki – Allen H.S. (TX)

CG | 6-foot-2 | 160 lbs | Committed to Texas A&M

No. 21 in Rivals150 | No. 25 in Top247

Sticking with Texas A&M’s hot start in the 2021 class, Manny Obaseki is the more recent commit as he announced his intentions to play for Coach Williams in early March. He is an in-state combo guard widely regarded as a Top 30 player in the class and should fit alongside Robinson extremely well. With these two locked up, it feels like the Aggies will have a scary backcourt in a couple of years. Coach Williams clearly has a recruiting plan and he is executing at a high level.

Obaseki, much like Robinson, is a plus-rebounder in the backcourt and can snag boards on both ends of the floor. With regard to his biggest strengths, though, you would be hard-pressed to find many penetrators better. With an elite first step, Obaseki can consistently get into the lane and boasts a variety of finishing moves at the rim or in the mid-range game. His court vision is also quite strong and he could develop into a dynamic pick-and-roll creator with time.

There are few overall holes in Obaseki’s game although he can continue to improve as a shooter. There is also some room for growth defensively, but that is mainly due to his incredibly high ceiling on that end. Obaseki already brings superb lateral quickness to the court to go along with long arms. He could be a terror for opposing guards to try to score on.

The Obaseki-Robinson tandem is going to be incredibly fun.
