No. 17 in Rivals150 | No. 9 in Top247

Indiana has generally improved in each season under head coach Archie Miller so far, even if it might not feel that way. After missing the NCAA Tournament during his first two campaigns at the helm, it was likely that the Hoosiers would have heard their name called at the 2020 Selection Show had the Big Dance not been canceled. Looking ahead to the future, there should be concerns regarding Coach Miller’s ability to recruit to one of the most historic programs of the Midwest.

He has seriously hit “The Hoosier State” hard for commits since starting with the program and that has paid major dividends. I mean seriously, look at the list of in-state players that Coach Miller has landed in just his short tenure in Bloomington:

  • Romeo Langford (No. 7 in 2018)
  • Trayce Jackson-Davis (No. 30 in 2019)
  • Anthony Leal (No. 99 in 2020)
  • Damezi Anderson (No. 124 in 2018)
  • Trey Galloway (No. 133 in 2020)
  • Rob Phinisee (No. 135 in 2018)
  • Armaan Franklin (No. 151 in 2018)

Diving into this particular top early commit from the 2021 class, Khristian Lander is going to be a flat-out star at the collegiate level. It is important to mention, though, that there is a strong chance that Lander moves to the 2020 class to play right away next season. Either way, he is a remarkable athlete with a ridiculous first step. He is super quick with the ball and exudes confidence as a scorer.

Lander can grow on the defensive end of the floor but his offensive game is quite polished. He can shoot it from deep, create for others, and is terrific at the rim. He should be a star from the opening tip of his career with the Hoosiers.
