JB White – Sante Fe H.S. (NM)

SF | 6-foot-7 | 185 lbs | Committed to New Mexico

No. 91 in Rivals150 | No. 36 in Top247

Arguably the most important early decision from the 2021 class, New Mexico secured a huge recruiting victory by receiving a commitment from JB White. A highly-regarded wing ranked in the Top 100 by most recruiting services, White looks poised to be the star of the future for the program. He is a local product and a player that will face high expectations early in his career with the program in his home state.

Head coach Paul Weir did an excellent job building a relationship with White early in the recruiting process and that paid off long-term. New Mexico has not reached the NCAA Tournament since the 2013-14 season and is yet to record a 20+ win season under Weir. With White as a building block for a potentially very strong future, though, the Lobos could be trending up once again.

With regard to his playing style, White fits the mold of an athletic slasher. He is quick to attack the basket, explosive and creative at the rim, and can do work on both ends as a rebounder. White can be a terror in transition as well with his ability to run the floor, stay in his lane, and finish either as the ball-handler or receiver.

He also has a high ceiling defensively thanks to his size, length, and athleticism.
