No. 50 in Rivals150 | No. 49 in Top247

Florida State has been one of the most underrated programs of the last few years. The Seminoles are not oft-discussed among the best programs in the country but that has simply been the case under head coach Leonard Hamilton.

Hamilton has done an excellent job attracting recruits that fit his system and they have succeeded year in and year out, regardless of how many players leave for the professional ranks. He also looks forward to the future better than most and has done that again with a strong start in the 2021 class that includes earning a commitment from the younger brother of a current Pitt player.

FSU’s first commit from the class, Bryce McGowens, is an absolute stud ready to make an impact. A do-it-all guard with plenty of size at 6-foot-5 and the ability to score as well as create for others, McGowens is a unique player. Considering his playmaking and the potential to line up at the point guard slot, he can be a matchup nightmare and would fit with FSU’s usual rotations that include length, size, and athleticism at every position.

McGowens is also already a strong shooter. He scored 65 in a high school game during this past season as it is clear that he has a high floor to work with. Add in the fact that he will be playing under one of the best developmental staffs in the country and he is a star ready to blossom.
