NCAA Basketball Recruiting: Predicting landing spots for top 9 uncommitted 2020 prospects
By Brian Rauf
Joshua Christopher – No. 10 overall
A 6-5, 215-pound shooting guard, Christopher has the kind of elite finishing ability that will allow him to contribute offensive at a high level no matter what. He’s a very good athlete that explodes around the basket and has the body control to finish from a variety of angles. His size, strength, and quickness make him a high-quality defender as well.
On Tuesday, Christopher released an updated list of his top five schools with USC replacing Kentucky:
Still, he has been a pretty heavy Michigan lean through the last several months and looks poised to join a top five recruiting class already headlined by five-star Isaiah Todd and four-star center Hunter Dickinson.
Prediction: Michigan
Greg Brown – No. 9 overall
Greg Brown is not a better dunker than Zion Williamson, as the headline in the above video suggests, but he is a truly elite athlete who finishes with great power and fearlessness. At 6-9 and 195 pounds, Brown is extremely quick but is still working on his perimeter skill set, as he’s unreliable from three-point range and can’t be trusted (yet) to really handle the ball like a guard.
He needs to get stronger, too, but that athleticism is undeniable and makes him a menace on both ends of the floor, particularly when it comes to blocking shots and finishing around the rim.
Brown is a native of Austin, TX, so naturally the Longhorns are right at the top of his list. With them also keeping Shaka Smart – who has had success turning athletic bigs into lottery picks like Mo Bamba and Jaxson Hayes (although Brown is a different kind of player) – it may just solidify his commitment to Texas despite Auburn’s late push.
Prediction: Texas
