Memphis Tigers

As great as the recruiting cycle was a year ago for Memphis, it’s been just as bad this time around, having not landing any 4/5-star prospects in the 2020 class. They did land JUCO recruit Ahmad Rand, a 6’8 power forward who’ll help replace the likely departing Precious Achiuwa.

Nolley would be a good fit for Penny Hardaway and the Tigers offense but it’ll be interesting to see what these young guards do in the next year. Players such as Alex Lomax, Boogie Ellis and Lester Quinones all showed promise but were clearly young and inconsistent. Nolley would provide a scoring punch that can take off the pressure of the other guards but who knows if one of them blows up a year from now.

NC State Wolfpack

Head coach Kevin Keatts loves using the transfer portal, having already brought in guys such as Devon Daniels, Braxton Beverly, CJ Bryce and others. It brings in enough talent to be competitive in the ACC but sometimes not all the pieces fit and a logjam occurs. But assuming Nolley can’t play next season, that logjam will be completely cleared, with five of this year’s team of scorers graduating by 2021.

The Wolfpack does have an elite small forward in the 2020 class in Josh Hall, a 6’9 forward ranked in the top-40. Nolley wants to ideally play at the small forward position to improve his pro prospects so Hall may have to play at the power forward spot to make things work. I’m not saying that’ll be an issue but NC State hasn’t had the greatest chemistry in the past couple of seasons.
