7. Dayton Flyers

The cancellation of the NCAA season no doubt hurt everyone involved in college hoops, but it arguably was the most painful for the Flyers. Coming off their best season in school history by far, the 29-2 Flyers were as good a shot as any to make the school’s first Final Four and possibly win a championship.

Now, they go into the offseason potentially losing the best player in school history, Obi Toppin, to the NBA draft and key senior leaders, Trey Landers and Ryan Mikesell, to graduation. This was a heartbreaking end to such a promising season for Dayton, but at least they can hang their hat on how dominant they were during the regular season and how watchable their offense was.

Ranking 1st in Effective FG%, 2nd in offensive rating and 14th in assists per FG made, the Flyers offense was consistently unstoppable all year round. With Obi Toppin dominating the low block and arguably the best shooting backcourt in the nation Jalen Crutcher and Ibi Watson making it rain from downtown, it’s truly upsetting as fans that we couldn’t see more of this beautiful offense lighting up the scoreboards in March.
