Indiana Hoosiers

Indiana is in need of adding another guard to its roster for the 2020-21 season and finding a strong performer at the position could put them in the preseason Top 25 conversation. At the moment, the Hoosiers have one scholarship available for the campaign and there are a few options that their coaching staff could be mulling over.

Perhaps most notably, there have been rumors that five-star commit Khristian Lander could reclassify from the 2021 class to be ready to play right away next season. That would fill the open scholarship and IU’s backcourt need.

If head coach Archie Miller and Co. feel as though they need more experience in their rotation, though, Charles Minlend would be a nice addition to the roster. The Hoosiers are already losing Devonte Green this offseason as one of their top scorers and Minlend could be a nice replacement for a year prior to letting Lander take the reins in the following year (if he does not reclassify).

Even if Lander elects to join the roster for next season, Indiana could potentially still have space for Minlend if someone transfers. Considering Minlend’s size and build, he can play multiple positions (1-through-3) and that makes him a logical target in case of an unexpected departure.
